For The Ring Toss By The Water

Mom, I was thinking about those beach house days, being near the water with friends around, laughter going, and me learning how to play ring toss in the middle of all of it.

At the time, I probably just knew it felt fun. Now I understand more of what was underneath it. You helped make life feel easy enough to enjoy. You gave me room to be happy, to be around people, to laugh, and to feel like I belonged right where I was.

I hope today has a little of that same easy comfort in it for you as you keep healing and finding your steadiness. I love you, Mom, and I’m glad your love is still in the background of so many of my happiest memories.
