For Ring Toss By The Water

Mom, I was thinking about those beach house days, being by the water with friends around, laughter going, and me learning how to play ring toss in the middle of all of it.

At the time, I probably just knew I was having fun. Now I see more clearly that you helped make life feel open and easy enough for that kind of happiness to happen. You gave me places where I could relax, laugh, learn something simple, and feel like I belonged.

I hope today has a little of that same ease in it for you, especially as you keep moving through this recovery with patience. I love you, Mom.
