For The Care I Still Carry

Mom, I think about the ordinary days when nothing dramatic was happening, but I could still feel your care all around me. It might have just been home being home, dinner getting figured out, or a quiet moment passing by, but I knew I was safe.

Now that I am older, I see how much that kind of steady love shaped me. You gave me a place to rest, not just a place to live.

I hope today feels comfortable and patient with you as you keep recovering. I love you, Mom, and I carry that safe feeling with me more than you probably know.

Love you always, your son
