For The Easy Belonging You Made

Mom, I keep thinking about those simple times when friends were around, laughter was in the air, something to drink was nearby, and the day just unfolded without anybody trying too hard.

When I was younger, I probably only noticed that it felt fun. Now I understand there was a deeper gift in it. You helped make life feel welcoming. You made it feel natural to be together, to laugh, to relax, and to belong.

I hope today gives you some of that same ease back as you keep recovering and finding your steadiness. I love you very much, Mom.
