For The Dinner Table Feeling

Mom, I was thinking about those evenings at home when you and Greg were cooking dinner and the whole house felt comfortable and settled. It was not some big special occasion. It was just home doing what home was supposed to do — letting me feel safe and sound.

Now that I am older, I understand that kind of feeling was not accidental. You helped create it over and over in ordinary ways, until comfort became something I could recognize and carry with me.

Today I am praying that comfort comes back around you gently. Slow, steady, protected, and loved is enough for this healing day. I love you so much, Mom.

Love from your son
